The Reumert Award 2003

»World class dance theatre«

On 27 April Kitt Johnson was conferred with the prestigeous Danish Reumert Award for her performance The Mirror. The committee motivated their choice with the following words:

»With the dance performance The Mirror Kitt Johnson created a solo which fascinated and touched us by its intense coupling between image and sound, between body and movement.

Kitt Johnson has proved to us in performance after performance that she has a rare talent as a dancer and choreographer. With The Mirror she managed to create an extraordinarily powerful dance drama, where the body mirrored youth and old age, beauty and decadence, human and insect at one and the same time. This was world class dance theatre.«
