The Expressive Anatomy
Seminar on the anatomical and physiological conditions of the body’s expressivity

25 April 2009 10.00-17.00, K2, Copenhagen

In connection with the PanCreas festival Kitt Johnson X-act presents an international 1-day seminar on the Expressive Anatomy.
 

The aim of the seminar is to explore and illuminate a series of questions regarding the human body’s expressivity in a performing arts perspective. The approach will combine the artistic and scientific aspects; we have invited both scientists/teachers and artists/performers from Denmark and abroad. Through artistic work demonstrations and academic presentations, the physiological conditions for expressivity and communication, such as ‘mirror neurons’ and ‘abdominal brain’, are discussed.

The seminar will be held partly in English.

  • Lis Engel, Denmark, lecturer and PhD at the University of Copenhagen
  • Regina Biermann, Germany, Body-Mind Centering Practitioner, choreographer and dancer
  • Otto Ramstad, USA, Body-Mind Centering Practitioner, choreographer and dancer
  • Kitt Johnson, Denmark, choreographer and dancer

Price: 150 DKK incl. coffee and cake. Lunch sandwiches may be purchased at the venue for 20 DKK.
