The senses in the field of perception
Our senses begin as potential and develop in response to stimulation and experience. The senses of movement and touch are the first to develop and are located throughout the tissues of the body and in every cell. The senses of smell, hearing, taste and vision are located in the head. All the senses are a conduits of information between our internal environment and the external environment. How we use that conduit to interact with information is part of the holographic action of perceiving. This workshop will cover all the senses and the perceptual process with a special attention to how the senses interact with the nervous system. We will work with noticing the patterns of how we use our senses and play with manipulating our sensory organs to create new ways of gathering information and creating new movement.
