The people behind X-act

Sture Ericson, Sweden.
Composer and performer, as well as co-founder of X-act. Sture Ericson studied at the Gothenburg Music Conservatory. His main activities are on the international music improvisation scene and as a composer for dance and New Circus productions. Sture Ericson has been working with Kitt Johnson since 1992.

Mogens Kjempff, Denmark.
Lighting designer. Mogens Kjempff has worked within the world of the theatre since 1971. As a technician and lighting designer he has contributed to a long list of dance productions and various festivals, including FOOLS, Dancing City and Metropolis. He has been working with Kitt Johnson since 1995.

Charlotte Østergaard, Denmark.
Fashion and costume designer. She has designed costumes for Danish Dance Theatre, Skåne’s Dance Theatre, The Royal Norwegian Ballet, and the Rambert Dance Company. She regularly shows her own collections, and she has exhibited at the Charlottenborg Spring Show and the Danish Design Centre. She teaches at the Danish National School of Performing Arts. Charlotte has been working with Kitt Johnson since 2002.

Theofanis Melas, Greece.
Theofanis Melas is a poet, translator, visual artist and performer. His site-specific performances have been presented in a number of European countries. Recent publications include | e  s  t  o |(Saixpirikon 2013), and recent translations include Andreas Pagoulatos – Επίμαχα/Stride (Arena Kontra 2011) and 4 danske digtere/billedkunstnere – 4 δανοί ποιητές/εικαστικοί – Per Kirkeby, Henrik Have, Claus Carstensen, Jørgen Michaelsen (Mandragoras 2011).

Samuel Gustavsson, Sweden.
Juggler, performer and choreographer, graduated from the Circus School in Sweden in 1998. Samuel Gustavsson has worked with a number of circus, theatre and dance companies, among these Cirkus Cirkör, with whom he has toured globally. He performed in Kitt Johnsons Aber Dabei in 2007 and has since created the children’s performance The Magical Sound Circus with Sture Ericson for X-act.

Sarah Garde, Denmark.
Kitt Johnson X-act’s producer since 2018. MA in Modern Culture with a profile in music/arts management from the University of Copenhagen in 2014. She has since worked with communication and administration in the field of performing arts – both freelance, as a consultant at the Danish Agency for Culture and as administrator at Helsingør Teater, which arranges and curates the international street theatre festival PASSAGE.

Nete Banke, Denmark.
Graphic designer. Nete Banke runs the graphic design company Imperiet and is responsible for Kitt Johnson X-act’s visual identity on printed materials, websites, etc.
